The Ocean is a Housecat

I lie still, quiet serene,

Wake with a lurch, fierce ‘n mean.

Walls go up to keep me at bay,

I care not & come anyway.

I, possessed of unknowable depths,

Toy with my prey before their deaths.

Unconcerned by what I might smash,

I eat what I like, and spit up the trash.
